Grade school, middle school and high school educational programs are closely aligned with the school districts we serve. The curriculum emphasis at each level is according to state required courses of study. TOBINWORLD students follow the same subject matter as public schools with an ultimate goal of enhancing the lives of every student and, when possible, returning them to the public school system. TOBINWORLD students who graduate are awarded High School diplomas by their respective school districts.
Class sizes are limited to 12 students and are staffed with a teacher and one to four classroom aides. There are also classroom aides who serve as monitors and are available as needed. Small classrooms allow for more individualized attention and focus. Educational and treatment methods include precision teaching, direct instruction, programmed instruction, multimedia computers, teaching machines, self management and behavior management.
Throughout the school year students are exposed to wonderful and exciting field trips which compliment their classroom courses. Past field trips include Griffith Park Observatory, Museum of Science and Industry, Descanso Gardens, Third Street Pier in Santa Monica, the Museum of Natural History, Union Station, KCET television station and many more.
To round out the educational programs offered at TOBINWORLD, grade school, middle school and high school students are involved in sports with other schools. Students proudly represent TOBINWORLD in such sports as basketball and softball at both the varsity and junior varsity level. Our students display sportsmanship on and off the playing fields while learning how to interact with other team members. We are very proud of the effort that all teams put forth during practice and also in the league games.
